Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information TOWMOVIT collects when you use our apps and dispatch network, how we use it, and the choices you have. Last updated August 11, 2026.
1. Who this policy covers
This Privacy Policy applies to anyone who uses the TOWMOVIT platform — drivers requesting roadside help, businesses and dealerships dispatching jobs, fleet accounts managing multiple vehicles, and the independent tow operators who accept and complete jobs. It covers our website, mobile apps, and any dispatch or account tools we operate under the TOWMOVIT name.
2. Information we collect
Account information. When you create a TOWMOVIT account we collect your name, email address, phone number, and, for operators and businesses, additional verification details such as company name, vehicle information, and licensing documentation.
Location and GPS data. To dispatch the nearest available operator and provide live job tracking, we collect precise location data from the requesting device and from the operator's vehicle for the duration of an active job. Operators may also share background location while marked available for dispatch. Riders and account holders can disable location sharing outside of an active job in their device settings, though this will limit our ability to match you with nearby operators.
Payment information. Payments are processed through a third-party payment processor (Stripe-style card and bank processing). TOWMOVIT does not store full card numbers or bank credentials on our own servers — our processor handles that data under its own security and compliance obligations, and shares with us only what is necessary to confirm and reconcile a transaction, such as the last four digits of a card and transaction status.
Dispatch and job data. We keep records of job requests, routes, timestamps, messages exchanged through the app, ratings, and job outcomes, in order to operate the marketplace and resolve disputes.
Cookies and analytics. Our website and apps use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the product is used through aggregated analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect site functionality.
3. Driver and operator vetting
Before an independent operator is approved to accept jobs on TOWMOVIT, we collect and verify information including driver's license status, vehicle registration and insurance, and, where applicable, a background check performed by a third-party screening provider. This information is used solely for vetting, ongoing compliance, and safety purposes and is retained for as long as the operator remains active on the platform, plus the retention period described below.
4. How we use information
We use the information above to match jobs with available operators, process payments and payouts, provide live tracking and customer support, secure accounts and prevent fraud, maintain safety standards for the network, and improve the reliability and speed of dispatch over time. We do not sell personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
5. Sharing of information
We share the minimum information necessary between the two sides of a job — for example, a requesting driver and the assigned operator will see each other's name, vehicle details, and live location for the duration of that job. We also share information with service providers who help us operate the platform (payment processing, background checks, mapping and SMS delivery, cloud hosting), and with law enforcement or regulators when required by law.
6. Data retention
We retain account and job records for as long as your account is active, and for a period afterward as needed to meet legal, tax, insurance, and dispute-resolution obligations — generally up to seven years for financial and job records, and shorter periods for raw GPS trails, which are aggregated or deleted once a job is complete and any related dispute window has closed.
7. Your rights
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate information, or request deletion of your account and associated data, subject to our legal and financial record-keeping obligations. You can make these requests from your account settings or by contacting us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time and confirm once a request has been completed.
8. Data security
We use industry-standard safeguards — encryption in transit, access controls, and regular review of our systems — to protect the information we hold. No system is completely secure, and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and report any suspected unauthorized access to your account immediately.
9. Limitation of liability
TOWMOVIT operates a marketplace connecting requesters with independent tow operators. To the maximum extent permitted by law, TOWMOVIT is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the platform, including damages arising from the conduct of independent operators or third-party businesses using the network. Nothing in this policy limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
10. Disputes
If you believe your information has been mishandled, please contact us first so we can investigate and resolve the issue directly. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be handled in accordance with the dispute resolution and governing law provisions of our Terms of Service.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our platform evolves. We will post the updated policy here with a new effective date, and where changes are material we will provide additional notice through the app or by email.
12. Contact us
Questions about this policy or requests regarding your personal information can be sent to contact@towmovit.com, or through the contact form on our Contact page.
